WHATS THE MINI TOUR?
We run a “Mini Tour” at the end of every Shires Tour main event This is aimed at youngsters with no handicap to have fun, learn the game and improve in order to feed into the main events
We do “flag 50” for these players. Basically every player carries a Shires Flag. Once they have hit 50 shots they stick the flag in the ground and get a photo! the aim is try to play a full 9 holes in 50 shots or less in order to qualify to play in the main events- great fun!
We pride ourselves in helping young juniors get on golf courses and learn the real game. Each player always receives a small prize to help them on their way.
WHEN TO MOVE UP?
We set a target of completing 9 holes in Flag 50 before qualifying to move into the handicap divisions. We reward each player for starting in the mini tour and progressing to the next level. Once you move into the 9 Hole Bronze division you can start to achieve a handicap, play for prizes and take part in the Order of Merits!
FORMAT
Every Mini Tour event is Flag 50. We cap each hole to 10 shots maximum. Three shots maximum out of bunkers.
This is to encourage players to enjoy themselves and to speed up the pace of play.
The Golf Genius app is the best and easiest way to enter events.
You can even edit your profile and view the results and live leaderboard through this. We really recommend it!
