The Shires Junior Golf Tour organise a collection of quality junior golf events around the Midlands for boys and girls of all ages and abilities at the best venues.
These events provide fun, yet competitive, golf whilst offering some unique and wonderful prizes to the leading players on the day.
We take as much pride from introducing and encouraging a new player into golf with our mini tour as we do in helping develop the potential champions of the future in the Gold division.
Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you take part in The Shires Junior Golf Tour.
We run around 12 main events per year all around the Midands. We pride ourselves on playing the top courses from each county. Each event gives prizes to our 3 handicap divisions (Gold, Silver and Bronze). We also run a mini tour event at the back of the main event for youngsters to gain experience on the course from forward tees.
Our tournaments are jam packed with fun. Expect lots of challenges, a grand first tee experience, lots of laughs and fantastic prizes.
We run around 12 main events per year with 2 Order of Merit leagues throughout the season for 18 hole Net, 18 hole Gross and 9 hole Net divisions. The format is Medal.
The Masters Series OOM
The Masters Series OOM takes the five best results from all qualifying events. The winners are announced at the Elowen Grand Final. They win a trophy and fitted set of clubs at Ping!
The Elowen Road OOM
This Order of Merit is sponsored by Elowen Horticulture and rewards loyalty to the tour. This league takes all OOM points from every event our juniors play in. The leaders of the Elowen then have a head start at the final event at a very special venue. The winners of this tournament win the Elowen Trophy and a fantastic Prize.
The tee sheets and prizes at each individual event are broken into four handicap divisions:
Each division play from a different tee. The tees get progressively more difficult as juniors reach the Gold division.
We reward the top three (at least) in each division at every event.
Prizes are given out at each event. The top three in Gold, Silver and Bronze receive vouchers to spend online at KJ Golf Shop (partners of the Tour). We also always award a voucher for the best gross score at each event.

We also give spot prizes for nearest to pins and longest drives at each event and awards are given to some challenges set by the tour at the events.
The main OOM prizes include a round with Charley Hull, Custom Fitted Ping Clubs, Fourball Vouchers at some amazing courses and more. The Shires Tour truly provides opportunities like no other.
Scoring
The tour prides itself in using the latest scoring technology. We use GolfGenius software. All players input their scores into a mobile device which updates automatically to the live leaderboard in the clubhouse! Everything is set up up before play, so the juniors can just focus on playing!
Handicaps
The tour is World Handicap System (WHS) authorised. This means we will update handicaps before play and adjust handicaps accordingly after play. Players are put into handicap divisions depending on their handicap. Mini tour players can move into a handicap division once they are ready.
The Golf Genius app is the best and easiest way to enter events.
You can even edit your profile and view the results and live leaderboard through this. We really recommend it!
